Sensex climbs 630 pointsThe assembly results and appointment of the new governor has made the market happy. Today, the market has been quite fast. Today, the Sensex gained more than 600 points. While the Nifty was up 1.75%, it managed to close close to 10700. Bank stocks also saw strong boom today. The Bank Nifty today raised nearly 450 points. At the same time, the mid-cap index was up by more than 400 points. With the appointment of Rashtriya Swayam as RBI governor, the bank has come out in the shares. The market watch is now on the board meeting of the RBI on December 14 and the number of retail inflation in the coming quarters and the figures of October's growth in the economy today.
In today's turn, Hero MotoCorp, Indiabulls Housing, U.P.L. and Adani Ports were the biggest gainers, while DRL, Bharti Infratel, HPCL and Titan saw the worst decline.
In the mid-and small-caps, shares were seen in good shopping as well. BSE's Mid-cap Index has gained 2.5% to close at 15040.83 and Smallcap index was up 2.4% at 14404.02. Oil & gas and realty stocks also saw good shopping today. BSE's oil and gas index closed nearly 2% and the Realty Index was up 4%.
Today, the market was witness to all-round greenery in which banks, auto, realty, metal and FMCG shares contributed the most. Bank Nifty closed at 26643.85 with an increase of 1.8% today. In today's trade, Nifty's auto index closed 3.6%, Realty index 4.3%, Metal index 2.5% and FMCG Index surged by 1.7%.
At the end of the turnover, BSE's 30-share index Sensex climbed 629.06 points, or 1.8%, to close at 35,779.07. On the other hand, NSE's 50-share index Nifty closed at 188.45 points, which is 1.8% down at 10737.60 level.
